straight or serrated/straight edge

do you prefer the straight or serrated/straight blade and why?

The carry items thread has me wanting a new knife. Eying up the endura as suggested

for cleaning purposes I rather straight but my pocket knife is half and half

I prefer straight. It's easier to resharpen. But if you're using it for policework or EMT or something, I'd go half and half so you can saw off seat belts easier.

I prefer a drop point for the right hande with the first 3" sharpened with a 22.5 angle or greater with the rear 6" recieving a jagged sharpening.

for a work knife i prefer a gerber gator, and every day carry in the pocket a spec warrior tanto edge

I don't like serrated simply because I have a hard time sharpening them.

General use half/half, working with game straight edge.

Straight edge. I've cut myself a few times behind the serrated edge getting hung up on stuff. The old people never had one because they never needed it.

They are really good for stripping wires though...

Half and half. Some things are hard to cut with a straight edge only. ie. Seat belts, tie wraps, wind pipes, etc.
