LSU needs an OC that can Run a true multiple offense. There is no "Power I or straight spread any more". I understand that people run more option or zone read than other people, but most college offenses are more multiple than any thing. Florida with Tim Tebowe number one run scheme was power "O" and the inside zone, both power running schemes. Florida just got to it in a different way than other teams. Alabama runs a lot of the the same schemes, they just do it with a little different look than Florida. "Zone is Zone, Power "O" is Power "O". The formations are just window dressing. It is more about forming a relationship with your players and getting them to buy into what you are doing. Rich Rod ran a lot of "zone read" and zone schemes are not that much different from team to team. Rich Rod's O-Line coach at West Virginia was Rick Trickett (who was on Nick Saban's original coaching staff at LSU) who now happens to be Jimbo's O-Line coach at Florida State. Trickett is one of the best zone o-line coaches in college football. The difference is the philosophy of the play caller and the team in general. The mentality of the offense is what is most important. It is philosophy not an offense. There is not a team in college football that doesn't run multiple formations any more. The menatality of the coaches and team is more important than the formations or plays. Every one keeps talking about "Pro Style" what is that? It is a mentality. Watch a pro game and see if they don't get into multiple formations. All they are doing is running a lot of the same plays out of different formations, nothing more.

I'd rather run one offense well then run 2 offenses into the ground

that is what we ran. Our offense had zero identity. If we want to run a multiple offense it needs to be ran rt with the rt personnel on the field.
