FWIW - Jason Whitlock wrote a nice piece about him last week. I don't really agree with Whitlock most of the time, but Mich fans would appreciate the article about Hoke.

To be fair, Les won over a lot of LSU fans with a brief press conference in 2007..

Can you imagine a BCSCG between LSU and UM? God that would be epic.

definitely would be an experience. Now that Les is staying, I still really want to get down to Baton Rouge for a game. Would love to experience a game in SEC country. Game vs. Bama in Dallas isn't gonna cut it for me!

I think ya'll will be okay with him. Scrap that 3-3-5 that just begs to be smashed in the mouth and recruit some size up front and wait and see. RR's problem is he acted like he was still in the big least and didn't adjust.

Miles tried to hire Hoke as a coordinator while he was at OSU fwiw. He is very much respected nationally in the coaching community. I must say however, that those who believe that Hoke was always the #1 choice are pretty naive IMO. Harbaugh and Miles were clearly one and two and there's no shame in that. Why do A.D.'s always feel led to play the "He was always our guy" card. LSU did the same thing when Les was hired. Yes he was an original candidate but was no higher than 3rd in Bertman's pecking order. Hoke will do just fine at Michigan IMO. Here's to beating tOSU regularly starting next year.

This idiot from Toledo just said Michigan isn't an elite job.

Who let him ask a question? Just because Les didnt leave a top 10 job for another top 10 job doesn't make Michigan less elite

Les wins them over then loses them with his next screwup, and this coming year will be no different

us fans get suckered in to "brand name" coaches. it's them or our school failed. i think that's BS. Hoke's career has been quite impressive to me. i think he may be the best guy to do what y'all need done right now. and that is to undo your offense, install a new one and build a defense from scratch (almost). if your school will let him pay his assistants market rate for top guys and they (and he) can recruit i think you guys will have a bright future. 'bout time y'all start spanking that Ohio arse.

Drew Sharp is one of the ones that said Michigan is no longer an elite program.

OSU generally refers to us as "That school up North" so I'm sure he was just returning the favor haha.

Do they use the acronym "TSUN"? Because that's how Mississippi State fans refer to Ole Miss.

That would be too funny.

Woody started TSUN at OSU at least. There were quotes where he said he wouldn't even buy gas in the state and would push the car over the border before he purchased it

I think he said all the right things. He seems pumped about the challenge. And he showed emotion and I love that about a coach.

frick Michigan

Blow it out your $uckeye arse, cause we all know you cant spell Ohio State without TAT.

Brady drove it home to Michigan fans today.

I was upset yesterday, took a nap, and kind of warmed up to the idea.

Today's presser gave me the old school Michigan feel.

Just needs to teach fundamental FB, and the rest will take care of itself. As long as we are winning, we will get the great recruits.

What is better though was the driving home of the idea of molding young men with character.

Now if we can just get John Cooper to stand on the sidelines, during the game, then things will get back to normal.

I think what killed Richrod was Michigan's inability to get behind the hire. He was sabotaged from the outset and it just got so poisonous. This is the exact right attitude to take towards Hoke: he's the coach, go in with some optimism. Give him a shot. He's not a bad coach, and very well UM could be getting a good coach nstead of winning the press conference.

Hoke certainly wasn't the first choice, but it doesn't mean he wasn't the right one. He might fit in there perfectly. To use LSU as an example, I don't think Miles is the best coach on earth, but I do think he's sort of perfect for us.

Seriously, good luck to y'all.

Is the Oregon fan upset that their 5 minutes of fame didnt end the way they wanted?

Pretty bad that in a rough 3 yr span, Michigan still has more national coverage than Oregon.

Perhaps Nike can pay for more Duck press coverage, and not concentrate so much on weekly fashion statements. Now that is a novel idea eh?

Hope he does a good job at Michigan. It would be great if Ohio State got some competition up there. Good luck.
