I heard the offer was slightly more than he was making at LSU. So it was significant. Clearly they went through too much trouble to think they had no chance of getting him.

And I also agree that the OP sucks!

Nevermind, here is one link I found. Granted it's opinion, but everything else is too regarding an "offer".

quote:

Brandon could not talk about factions and then ignore Miles in this process. So what did he do? I think he had a nice, long talk with Miles (it ended very amicably, I’m told), and probably offered 80% of what it would take to get Miles to come to Michigan.

Don't shoot the messenger. I am just asking for thoughts on one article I read.

Tangerine, I think he was offered, but not as much as some believe. He simply kept the better job and rumor is that he got $18.75 guaranteed and if he actually makes it through the next 2 seasons it's about $26.25 guaranteed not including bonuses.

If true, LSU just royally fricked itself.

Tangerine will do anything to belittle LSU or anything related to LSU. You would think it should get better since U$C is on probation, but I guess not.

I did not write the aricle. I was seriously asking for thoughts on the article. SHows how short sighted some are.

and here we have a third attempt to bring USC into another unrelated thread. Typical and laughable.

Thanks. God forbid someone actually take the post and question rationally.

I disagree. I think discussing how and why you suck is entirely relevant.

Then maybe you should dismiss yourself from posting and/or participating on this board. I'm certain USC has one of their own filled with people just like you.

And I'm telling you what I've heard from people that know.

There was a legitimate offer made to Miles.

Miles declined.

You can research a link that wasn't important enough for you to remember, or you can choose to believe what I'm telling you.

But, I'm guessing one will halt your incessant LSU bear poking, so you'll probably not choose that one.

Yeah, God forbid I think basically guaranteeing Les $26.25 Million is just retarded. I must be such a hater.

Why is it retarded to financially secure the services of the most successful football coach in LSU history?

This makes sense if Carr was running things from behind the scenes. The thing that doesn't make sense is it really was not necessary unless they were fing with Miles.

I don't care whether an offer was made or not. He's our coach and that's the end of it. MU can say whatever they want about offers or no offers. All water under the bridge right now. They didn't come to BR to talk with him because they just wanted to see how things were going.
