More stud recruits and less conference opponents

Less teams in the conference but more on the schedule (they'll play all 9).

And they'll probably fall in the 8-4 range with the new hires.

Rice
BYU
@UCLA
@Iowa State
OU
Okie State
@Baylor
Kansas
Texas Tech
@Missouri
KState
@TAMU

I think 8-4/9-3 sounds reasonable, losing to OU, @A&M, and probably @Missouri

It's hard to tell. I mean who would have thought they would go 5-7 and miss a bowl this past year? I say 7-5 and are in a shitty bowl

UCLA will destroy them by several touchdowns as usual.

I see them rebounding, 10-2.

Losses to UCLA, Iowa State, OU, Okie State, Mizzou(depends on how well their new QB will play), and a&m.

Maybe a loss to Okie St too.

If they don't start 4-0 then people should start getting very nervous.

Maybe a BYU loss as well. Heaps will have another year. Not saying it's going to happen hands down. Anything can happen.

I wonder if Patterson would leave Ft Worth for Austin if it became available? I doubt it.

I have no clue who they would even consider... someone big obviously.

You joke but there's no way in hell Urban stays retired past a year or two and he's be the big splash a program like Texas enjoys making. I could possibly see it.

When I saw this post, my first thought was the lackluster Cowboys and Texans, not the Longhorns.

I know the Texans aren't a perennial powerhouse, but who would have thought that all three teams would miss post-season play this year? Good thing we had the Rangers.

Well, when I think post-season play, the "Texas Bowl" is not the first thing that comes to mind. In fact, it's not even in the top 25.

Harsin has enough time to get a system in place, and if he can find ways to get DJ Monroe and Malcolm Brown the ball in space, it makes things a lot simpler for GG to find Marquise Goodwin and Mike Davis down the field, two things Greg Davis had no idea how to do. And the defense, although it won't be as experienced as last year, still has a lot of promise. I can see us going 9-3, possibly 10-2 with an big win over OU or A&M
