Just wanting to get opinions...
With JJ on his A game, or O looked pretty good.
The fake Ridly dive and having JJ run it in was a nice call I thought.
Does Gary deserve another year?

No. QB coach at this point seems to be more important than offensive playcalling.

He called a good game, biggest thing was JJ and tolliver connecting for deep passes....we didnt do that all year and that sets up so much more in the run.

He gets one more year....Zack and JJ will be competing for starting job...I think zack takes it and our offense is in crowtons hands..no excuses...zack m is very accurate.

Execution, execution, execution.

Especially on the O Line.

One good game should not buy Crowton another year after 3 bad years. I will say that Crowton called a very good game, and it all started with the running game being totally dominating. He set up plays, and used the rushing attack to do it. The first TD pass to Tolliver was set up by all of the hand offs from shotgun formation. And I've always said Jefferson is the perfect QB for a rush first offense.

The problem is Crowton isn't consistent with this type of performance. Sure, offense will show up every now and then, but remember most of the year LSU struggled against Vanderbilt, West Virginia, Miss. St. Next season, LSU has a great shot at a NC, but we cannot afford any down time. Offense has to pick up where it left off against A&M when we open the season against Oregon.

I think it is obvious that Gary Crowton isn't the problem - you don't just happen to call a good game. The Cotton Bowl showed what LSU could have done with a capable QB - JJ played his best game of the year - he hit the deep ball which opened up the run. QB play has been the missing link for two years now.

Good lord. How many freakin' times do we have to go over this?

1. There was nothing special about the calls in this game. What you saw was a superior team executing against an inferior team. The offensive line opened up some gaping holes. LSU's athletes made plays.

2. God help us if that was JJ's "A" game. The guy hit on only 10 of 19 passes. His "B" and "C" games have been so bad, that when he has just an average game, people on this board wet themselves because it seemed so much better than it was. Yes, he hit TT for a couple of long balls, but he also BADLY missed on several others and was lucky the Ags dropped what would have been INT #2.

Those two things said, it was nice to see LSU execute its offense for only the 3rd time all season and get a big win in a bowl game, but we can't continue with an OC whose offense needs 5 weeks at the end of a season in order to execute properly.

Thanks, Gary, but we'd rather you not come back.

How come no one has stated the obvious? We had the most time in history to prepare and we played a team that is not that good. And they play in a conference that has one team that is any good. And it took a uconn team for them to finally win a bcs bowl game.

I really dont give a shite about sec bowl record this year. We played in the toughest division in college football. And if we want to win that division the offense is going to have to get better.

A lot of these posts sound like repeats of what we've read all year, so mine won't be much different. I thought GC called a very good game, his best of the season, but A&M is not on a par with many SEC teams, and again, GC should be evaluated on the entire season, not just this and his very poor performance at QB development. For this game, the only fault I saw was still running Ridley outside instead of between the tackles--otherwise, very good.
