Gone too far? Parents placed AD in paper for son

Was listening to sports radio on my commute to work this morning, and apparently parents of some local high school kid in the Bay Area have placed an ad in the sports section extolling the virtues of their son's football skills, obviously in an attempt to get the kid recruited.
I haven't seen the ad myself, so I can't tell you exactly what it says, but they did read from it during the radio show. I think the kids last name was Brisbane from St Ignatius Prep in SF.
1. I wonder how much money they spent for an ad in a major newspaper.
2. Couldn't that money have gone to the kids education?
3. I guess if they have enough money to do this, does the kid really need a scholarship??
4. St Ignatius Prep is a pretty expensive private school in SF.

Why wonder when you can easily figure it out by seeing how much it costs to place an ad.

Was it a full page ad or something?

If the parents actually have to do this to get the kid noticed...then he's probably no good at all.

I'm sure Crowton's all over this one as his next QB project.

At least they didn't hold a fake press conference to say that he committed to a school that didn't recruit him. Remember that guy?
