Okay, let's work upwards then...

Why do you like Crowton? Or why are you okay with him?

Obviously you don't like JJ, but this is failure extending over two totally different QBs now.

Highest in the SEC. It's up there nationally, not sure of the exact number.

I figured you would have a good idea.

So we have some of the best talent in the country and are paying top dollar for our OC sounds like GC is gettin paid for nothing. I bet OC's making 4-500k a year dream about being able to run their offense with LSU's talent. And I believe many of them would be able to have great success with JJ or JL, They both have tools to be good or even great but no one to know how to best use them and enable them to be successful.

No more closer to the amount we pay GC to produce the 90th ranked offense.

"Best Talent" on Offense?

It's not about labels.

It's about an identity.

EVERY good offense has something to hang their hat on. They have go-to plays and things they do well and KNOW they do well.

We don't have any of that.

quote:

Gary Crowton..he's the guy that's had 3 different 1,000 yards rushers at LSU right? You missed that "Problem".

I never said everything he did was terrible.

More people NEED to read this:

LINK

If you read that and don't see the LSU offense through and through then I can't help you.

Is our talent on offense not at least top 10 caliber? Or have our classes in the last 4 years been rated so high purely on defensive commitments?

We have to be the only team in CFB history to start 3 5 star WRs and have single digit TD passes.

That is terrible. I just feel like we are wasting talent and giving lots of ammo to opposing coaches to whisper in the ear of future wr's to not come to LSU

Is LSU QB's & OL the "Best Talent"?

Rivals/Scout junk mail.

Randle's a top talent. Shepard is still in year 1 at WR, Toliver has been inconsistant.

Is your arguement that they are rated 90th talent wise? If not explain how the offense is ranked 90th

I don't disagree entirely... but I'd say TT is a low four star talent at worse.

Shep is still 5 star talent, even if he's not a fine tuned WR. There are ways to use him effectively... and we rarely did so.

As far as the other talent... both QBs were four star guys on both sites.

Line... Barksdale was a high four star (five star for most of the year).
Josh D. was a four star.
PJ is a four star.
Blackwell is a four star.
T-Bob is a four star.
Hurst is a three star.

Of the 5, I'd say two were inaccurate... Hurst should have been a 4 star and T-Bob a high three star (though he takes way too much shite on here).

Our backs are all super talented, and I don't think anyone would dispute that.

We have top 10-15 talent on offense.

According to Scout/Rivals.

The same corporation that had Tyrann Mathieu a 3 & 4 star & Tyson Jackson the #3 Overall pick the NFL Draft, a 2 & 3 star.

Very good; would agree on most--just one question on Moffitt--He has always been praised as being able to put weight on just about every player, but he hasn't put enough on Josh D for the last few years--for his height, should play at a higher weight. Might drop him to an A- for that.

I'd be more likely to believe LSU's problems were solely QB play if Crowton didnt have a history of doing this at every single other job he's ever had. Add in the facts that he couldnt even win with Dennis Dixon, and that even with a crappy QB LSU should still be able to steam roll McNeese, ULM and LaTech, and it's clear Crow must go. And what are the odds that all these QBs--all talented according to all the recruiting services--are really that bad?
