"There's no sense of panic or doubt of where we're headed or where we're going to be". The fans have to be patient with the players,if people have a lack of confidencein me they can look at the past. This will be a hot ticket again". Ok who is ready to ride it out

Trent knows that if he doesn't produce by the end of his contract he is gone. He was given 5 years to build a program. We will either be good by season after next or someone new will be here. Its all part of the process.

I would understand more if this was a football rebuilding job. It can happen faster for basketball. It just seems like we should be better in year three of the process.

We should be steadily improving year-by-year, and not getting worse and worse. There is absolutely NO excuse for losing to in-state schools. None. Not even Brady did that during his rebuilding process under the draconian sanctions.

Not really year 3 of the process. It's year 2. The first year he won with talent that Brady couldn't win with.
Now he's getting his talent in here without a panic of nothing but JUCO players for a quick fix. If he sucks in 2 years..sure..gone..but this year isn't the year to judge a rebuilding

The scary thing is we need to show results NOW as the great in-state talent in 2012 will go elsewhere if we can't show them we are capable of playing at a high level.

Sorry to hear the Coach Brady slept with your wife. Seriously, though, this is his 3rd year here. He won in year one with BRADY's players and has sucked bags of donkey nuts with his own. To me, that is an indictment on his abilities.

Hey, how many Seniors dowe have on this team? Oh yea, none. How many Juniors and which ones are they? Bass, Green, and Warren (with White and Hamilton transferring in.) Not exactly a balling group of upperclassmen.

5 years is nonsense in college basketball. If TJ doesn't have this year's team improving by season's end, then the end be to him. This squad has to show signs of getting better this season or that is an indictment of TJ's coaching ability. And cousin, that's the cold, hard truth.

+1 Doc. I'm with you on this one.

Well, on one hand, there is no excuse for how bad this team is. It really seems like a high school team.
That being said, I knew we would rebuild from the ground up and it would take time to get things going with the type of program he was trying to build.
I'm willing to give him his five years. But if we haven't gone to the NCAA tourney by 2012-2013, it will be time for him to go.

I don't understand why people are on TJ's case THIS season. Next year should be the real test, and the year after. Trent really is developing a young nucleus. We start 2 Freshman, 2 Juniors and a Sophomore. Everyone will be back next year. We had walk ons playing quality minutes last year, and this year we're still very short in quality depth. Yeah, LSU is having growing pains right now and still trying to find their identity but next year I truly believe we will be solid, and a tough test in the SEC, with 2012 being the true competitive year.

That was Johnsons decision......he chose not to use his allotted scholarships the previous year....

we could win with all freshman if they are good enough youv got to recruit top 20 are top 15 players consistently we dont have 1 top 20 player on the team.the younger people on the board were not were very young when lsu did that cosistently under dale brown
why has louisiana's talent fallen so low not 1 kid in the top 25 no strom swift no thorton no duhon no bright thats part the problem the fall off in talent what happend?

Katrina. They all moved to Texas, got comfortable, and never moved back.

Correct, he felt like there were better recruits to be had in the next year's class (which is the one he got Turner, Stringer, Derenbecker and Courtney in addition to Iowa St. transfer Hamilton).
I can live with that. Could we have/should we have gotten better with the first three he did give out.
That has always been my question. At this point I'm not sure any of the three of them will be much more than what they are now. I know APR and other issues were the concern, but I can't help but think he could have accomplished securing those and maybe still upgraded quality a bit and ability to play now more.
Now I do like the class he just got. In fact I think Stringer and Turner have both turned out to be a little better than I thought they would be.

It's going to be really difficult to get top 20 talent here right now without, again...getting your hands dirty. And Trent's just not gonna do that, which I appluad. Some just want results and would justify such tactics...that's their perogotive.
We did get a commitment from a top 20 player for next year in O'Bryant.
We got Turner from Alabam because we evaluated him better than any of the players from Louisisana at the position. I think that will turn out to be a correct evaluation.

I think that this year's team really could have used 2 juco kids. Marcus Thornton proved how valuable that method can be to build up some momentum. Instead of just picking some high school kid to be a role player.
