ive seen about seven or eight in my entire life. they truly are beautiful.
while canoeing in Canada, I witnessed one land on a rock about 30 feet from me and eat a fish out of the lakes.
on opening weekend of duck season i saw three of them circling about 1000 yards away from me. i know once they find a mate they mate for life so my only guess is they were teaching one of their young to hunt.

They had started to reappear in numbers across N. La before I left. Awesome creatures. Great photo subjects.
