It's nostalgic in the same way that the crumbling walls of the Coliseum are nostalgic. Maintenance is essential to the preservation of the stadium. It was starting to remind me of the show on the History Channel--Life After People (I think that's what it was called).

It's kind of like this. If you get a rip in your jeans, the rip might look cool for a little while. But if you don't fix it, the rip will grow and you won't be able to wear the jeans anymore.

We have to give up a little cool now to make sure the stadium survives for future generations.
