Wait, Baton Rouge has no local places? News to me. That said I didn't go back and re-read this 2 month old thread so I might be getting something out of context.

Yeh...read the thread...he was referring to a specific kind of restaurant that BR has zero of (Brandt's maybe fits the bill? haven't been yet though)

I think they meant like.. your LA food that we're known for. And I tend to agree. The other day I tried to name 10 seafood/LA restaurants in BR and couldn't do it. Now, I might have just forgotten some, but I could name 10 pizza joints in under a minute.
There are VERY few places I would take someone from out of town in BR to show off our type of food. It's weird how something our state is known for is outnumbered by sushi, Mexican, pizza, etc.
