Where are all of those people this week? We all know negatigers such as myself have been happily shut up by the Bama beatdown, but what about all those guys saying expectations are too high?

I'm not as interested in calling them out, though, as I am in just saying how great it was to see LSU play like that again. THAT was meeting expectations.
And I'm not saying they have to win every game, but to go out there against a team like Bama (and don't kid yourself, Bama is good enough to win every game they play) and just lay it all on the line, open up the offense in the 2nd half, and in general look like what they are: a team of the best athletes you will find in college football.

If Miles can make that the norm, then I don't care if he stumbles his way through 30 years of press conferences.

In other words, will we play at a high level consistently or just on special occasions?

That was a stupid post, but the expectations of many are still out of whack.

LSU is one of 12 schools with 700 wins and ranks 13th all time in winning percentage. That puts in the the top 15% of all schools.

I have been a total Miles/Crowton Negatiger for a while. Face it, the guys just win football games!! Time to put the negative vibes away forever.

Whoa BUB!!! It was great to beat Bama and Queen Saban, however Bama is down this year and way over rated. I would be happy if we beat them by 17 or more. We still have a lot of football left to play. We do have a big X on our chest with the little giants coming to town. And Missoli would like to steal our season like a pc, lol! And the still have to make them lil hogs sing wee wee wee to call it successful! 12 more dominating quarters of kill or be killed football and then crownem!

I agree with you. Most of us know lackluster play when we see it, win or lose. This has been my complaint with Miles and the team all year. McNeese State game - we barely showed up.
Florida -- pretty good. Alabama -- fair in first half, very good in second half.

I like what I saw in the second half of the 'Bama game. If LSU can maintain that level of play, we can beat most anybody.

The bye week was well used. Miles laid a career game on Saban. Nice !

You think one game changed that?

We beat a ranked Alabama team in Tiger Stadium for the first time EVER.

You read that correctly. In 100 years, LSU had never, ever beaten a Bama team currently ranked in the AP poll on our home field. EVER. Until last Saturday.

It's a great victory.

But it's only one win.

But I will say this...
this one win did give me the ammo to get some Bammers to admit that their program is now merely "on par" with LSU and Florida.

Which, while not proving that we are/aren't elite, does prove that Bama's post-Bear identity crisis continues. Saban hasn't tamed that problem yet.

God help the Bammers if they lose to State. It's a must win game for Saban.

Tim to give the Perriloux dead horse a few more whacks...

We finally saw what the team can do with decent QB vs a quality opponent. And I'm not counting an over-rated GT as a quality opponent.

2008 and 2009 would have gone down very differently with a QB as talented as Perriloux on the roster. Remember, RP's last start as a Tiger he was named SECCG MVP.

We've been wandering in the wilderness for two years, blaming Miles and Crowton for not being able to make silk purses out of sow's ears.

It's great to be back!

What is the definition of elite in college football today? How often do teams repeat as SEC Champions? Also as happy as I am to finally see our offense play good for a half we still have not won an SEC West division title in 3 years. But who knows LSU has had alot of good bounces this year. Maybe Georgia pulls out a win against Auburn.
