We're bringing a dozen Cornhuskers to the game next Saturday. Mostly for the same reason. They want to experience a Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.

Could be.

I was flying to Dallas for Portland last month and spotted someone in the bathroom line with a LSU shirt. Since I'm head of the local LSU chapter, I struck up a conversation and asked the guy if he was a local alum. To my surprise, he was just a guy from Oregon (Duck fan) who went down to see us play a few years ago... just to soak up the atmosphere. And he bought a T-shirt as a souvenir...

So yes, some folks do fly in just to watch LSU games.

He and his dad were on their way to Miami for the Florida State / Miami game. I told him that Jimbo Fisher was FSU's head coach and many Tiger fans would like to have him back and send Crowton back to Oregon. He laughed and said nobody in Eugene misses Crowton. Told him it ought to be a good game b/w LSU and Oregon next year.

So at least from this one anecdotal experience, I gathered that a lot of folks around the nation are curious about the Southern religious football expierence and curious enough to make an annual pilgrimage to college football's cathedrals to experience the game Southern style.

Just my two cents...
