I would consider Saban's second best year as 2001. You know, the one where he took a team two years removed from a 3-8 record to the top of the SEC and a Sugar Bowl win. Not 2004.

okay, fine, then change the record from 20-3 to read 19-4...so miles could actually beat saban's two best years.....because saban lost 3 regular season games in 2001....the sec was just much weaker back then.

And lost to Ole Miss by double digits, got crushed by florida and lost to Tenn. Dont get me wrong I had a TON of fun that year, but if Miles did that this board would still want to fire him despite winning the SEC. I mean some peoples honest dream season is to win the NC this year AND fire Miles-its ridiculous.

An injury to Mauck in 2002 kept that year from being really good. I believe they were 6-0 before Mauck got hurt in the 4th qtr of the Florida Blowout.

If Saban had stayed, LSU may have won BCS titles in 2006 and 2007. 2006 was loaded with talent. No team we played was even close except maybe Florida.

Dorsey, Tyson Jackson, Laron Landry, Chevis Jackson, Ali Highsmith, JR, Bowe, Buster Davis, Early Doucet, Hester, etc. At least 6 first rounders on that team that were at least redshirt sophmores. I know there were some good O linemen as well.
