I'm know I'm too excited about it because I had a zombie invasion nightmare last night. On top of that my dumbass dream me fricked up and barricaded my family in our house and I only had one clip and my 9mm to defend us.

I'm really looking forwward to it.
I like the comic. The story is great, but the dialog is really bad at times. I think Darabont will clean this up though. Interesed to see how far AMC pushes the envelope as far as the violence is concerned.

Just watched it myself, as someone who loves zombies and is semi-familiar with the comic books...
I thought it was great. Extremely well done. Maybe the best rendition of zombies ever.
What was striking was the tone of the show, as well as the main characters. Rick was excellent. And obviously, the show isn't about zombies, as OBU said, they are merely a vehicle for something else (and something that isn't as campy or as blunt as Romero's work). As long as the show keeps the premise, that it's about the people, then it should be ok. If it ever resorts to "How many zombies can we kill this week," it will die quickly. Because even as a zombie fan, that would get old quick.
I had high expectations, and this still surpassed them. Just wow. Let's hope this gets a long run.

It's DVR-ing now but I'm trying to wait this Dallas game out(AKA the Walking Dead 2) before I watch it. I'm really only watching this dallas/green bay game for fantasy purposes.
