"You guys can jump off the bandwagon at any time. I'm staying true to lsu"

My sentiments too....been a "true" fan since going to the games as a child with my parents in the early '70's...some people here seem to have "epic meltdowns" when LSU doesn't play well. As for me, I just enjoy ALL the games!!!

I honestly thought we would have 2-3 losses by this point in the season.

Despite yesterdays game, the o-line has been as pleasant a surprise as the defense.

My issue is with the constant lack of focus by the coaching staff especially in regards to clock management. The inability to get plays onto the field.

We saw at least two issues of time mismanagement yesterday.

I take my hats off to the players for yesterdays effort. If not for Helton's unbelievable play the score may not have been so close.

I did too. I think LSU will beat Ole Miss and lose to Arky and Bama and finish at 9-3. I predicted 8-4.

is praising the team when they do well by executing their game plan, while criticizing lack of focus, attention to detail and obvious lack of preparedness mean I am jumping off the bandwagon?

my devotion to the team is still blind. i can't change where i went to school.

No, I have you pegged perfectly. I have read many of your posts. You switch back and forth like a woman (no offense to women). Complete knee-jerk reactions. LSU was never going to go 12-0. Their offense is simply not good enough. Crowton will be gone after this year. They have played bama very well the past two years with worse teams than now, and I fully expect the game in two weeks to be another great battle. It is a huge game for LSU, no doubt. A loss will not negate the chance at 10-2, but a win will almost guarantee it and more importantly will gives lsu and miles a win over satan and equal up his record against him (as he did against meyer). It is going to be tough to beat arkansas unless JJ gets hurt between now and then.

That's being a true fan.

Hope that a kid that has been playing his hardest gets hurts.

Sorry, you are bitching like a "woman" in this thread. You have no clue as to what you are talking about.

There are actually some realistic college kids, but for the most part, the majority of them really have no clue. Typical kids though, they THINK they know it all.

Sort of like you with your moral indignation? Or does your old age, receding hair line and ballooning body fat percentage provide you some mystical powers of insight?

No, it doesn't. Rather you come here attempting to show how "smart" you are by attempting to show how "dumb" those "kids" are....kind of funny that doesn't work either. Why not show how smart you are by using paragraphs, proper verbiage, spelling and maybe even a logical analysis other than; Miles is good.

I would never wish any kid to get hurt, whether on LSU's team or another team. I simply stated the facts. JJ cannot lead lead our team in terms of scoring points. LM is going to continue to play him. We cannot score enough points with JJ to beat arky (imo) as he simply can't comprehend crowtons offensive approach. You look at it, JJ led us to the 112th ranked offense last year, and we are 100th this year. I did not say i hoped he would get hurt, my point was that our best chance to beat arky is that JL play the entire game and have a pretty good game. We know that JL will not play the entire game unless JJ is injured. I think we can beat arky with JJ, but would have to play a very good game and win the turnover battle. I do feel like we have a much better shot at beating alabama.

I know there are plenty of dads on the board. Roger's posting style just didn't indicate anything along the lines of being 40.

We can still win the NC actually. Somethings will have to happen: We beat Bama, Bama beats AU, and we beat Arky.

Under that scenario, you have a one-loss Auburn and a one-loss LSU. Auburn would go to the SECCG, since they beat us.

Auburn plays Ole Miss, Chattanooga, Georgia, and Bama. In order for LSU to make it to the NC game, Auburn must lose two of those last four.

It's not "young kids". It's Tiger Fans of every stripe and color and age. Most of us have been watching LSU football for decades and know a turd when we see it.
quote:

Most of these kids believed LSU would be 7-5, or 8-4 at best. LSU is currently 7-1 this year and can still have a very good season.
True, I predicted 3 losses but still you cannot say we are a well coached team, that the talent gets utilized properly or that our coaches are prepared for game situations.
quote:

It is almost impossible to go through a tough conference and finish a year unbeaten.
No on really thinks that we are going to be unbeaten, they think the team is being mishandled.

and a win would virtually guarantee at least a 10 win season
"Virtually guaranteed" my arse. This team could easily lose to Bama, Ole Miss and Arky.
quote:

they don't go from all-americans one week to being poorly coached players the next.....
Yes, they actually do. We are seeing it week to week and it's been happening for a few years now, and it's the result of poor coaching. The coach is relying on the talent alone to shine through and is not coaching these kids in proper technique, play calling and understanding some of the basic fundamentals of the game. The casual fan can see it on TV. It's a shame you can't.

Not true. I have stated many times that JJ has certain strengths and is being misused. My criticism is not of JJ, but how he is being used. He isn't a pocket passer and shouldn't be playing if that is what is necessary.

Fair enough. It seemed to me all you said was that JJ was horrible and should never play. But I'm not going to sift through post history.

I felt like we forced Lee in there yesterday unnecessarily and it cost our offense. Not that JJ was playing incredibly, but his mobility was the only consistently effective part of our offense yesterday.

Poorly coached has been and will continue to be the common theme with Miles and Crowton.

To some people it's not...that's all I cared about in HS and I want to make a career out of it. I'm hoping to be a coach at LSU one day so that statement is wrong...and tell that to the players.

You sound like my son... he loves football and plans to make a career of it as well (actully has a coaching job at a local high school while he's going to college). I keep telling him to make sure he's taking notes on how NOT to manage a game. Believe it or not, for someone with your aspirations, there are some positives that you can gain from watching this coaching staff.
