No joke the SS is louder than any other section but the last 5 years have been the worst student sections that i have ever seen at LSU.

calm down its been proven that washington's stadium is the loudest.

quote:

During televised games, the cameras appear to be shaking due to fans stomping their feet in the bleachers. During the 1992 night game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, ESPN measured the noise level at 135 decibels, well above the threshold of pain). This was the highest decibel level ever recorded for a college football stadium.[7]

quote:

During a nationally televised game against Auburn in 2003, ESPN recorded a noise level of 119 decibels at certain points in the game. During the October 6, 2007 game against the University of Florida, CBS recorded 130 decibels, thus making it the second loudest collegiate stadium in history, only behind Husky Stadium in Seattle, Washington.

Yes it is. There was an article some time back about the architecture and design of the stadium and renovations to maximize the noise.

Point is that it could be the loudest in the nation and nothing Oregon fans could do would make them louder than LSU fans in TS.

Yeah, it COULD and Michigan COULD be louder than TS, but it's not.

TS isn't half of what it used to be. Spoiled old fans and ghey azz rantards who think we "suck" as the undefeated number 6 team in the country. Sad really.

If LSU wins Saturday afternoon, the reputation of being the loudest will be reassured on November 6th.

There in lies the problem win or lose Saturday should have not a damn thing to do with coming out for the Bama game and screaming until you are hoarse. They are too many in our "new" fansbase with the same shitty attitude, that attitude makes you sound like bitches who would give up after getting hit it the mouth once.

Have they have had an earthquake reported from their stadium?

that was 20 years ago

We can be loud when we want to be. No need to do it most of this year yet. Come Bama game, no matter what, it's going to be one loud arse place to be. Make sure the kids have ear protection.

why should it matter who our opponent is? The loudest stadium should be loud all the time

....and who gives a frick how loud Tiger Stadium used to be. Is it the loudest now?

Honestly guys, the loudest LSU game I've been to in the last two years (out of 8 games) was at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium this year.

meh

At times, it got very loud. The way the stadium is built lends itself to the creation of noise (I don't mean to say the FL fans can't be loud at times, but I'm just saying the stadium itself helps.) Where were you sitting? I was in a group of LSU fans at teh 40-50 yd line, east side, first 10 or so rows. WE were so loud that there is no doubt we were affecting the FL QB's ability to hear. Further, while I do realize that Tiger Stadium plays some horrible piped in music, it is nothing compared to the garbage they play at FL, which at times sounded like a minor league baseball game atmosphere.

Finally, my perception -- the LSU student section is not, and never has been, a "problem" as far as making noise. They aren't the ones leaving the stadium in the 3d quarter.

so having the stadium designed to hold noise is some kind of crutch? Have you seen those steep arse stands at Tiger Stadium? What do you think they're designed to do?

It's pretty obvious, but I bet if you ask them, the roof on the home team side of the stadium is for "shade". The roof just helps to force and echo the sound to the field instead of it being lost in dead space. Let's add some structures to Tiger stadium to help "shade" the fans and see what it does to the crowd noise.

First of all, Michigan will never be that loud even if they have 200,000 people. Most of the games played in freezing weather. Ever tried to make noise with coats and gloves on....just saying

Tiger Stadium is on of the loudest places and will always be one of the loudest places to play. Has nothing to do with ticket prices or stadium design...has to do with attitude

Drunk broke dicks make much more noise than semi-drunk rich people

Autzen has the highest measured decibel level from what I understand.
