In 2005, #5 LSU traveled to Tuscaloosa to play #3 Alabama. That game was also a 2:30 CBS game. I was lucky enough to be there, and I remember a palpable feeling on the streets that day. Alabama fans were 100% CONVINCED that they were going to win the National Championship that year. I've never heard so much smack talk or heard a stadium (outside of Tiger Stadium) louder than that day. When Jamarcus threw the winning TD in overtime, I saw 90,000 people go into shock. It was like when a kid finds out there is no Santa Claus!

I have a VERY similar feeling this week. This year #6 LSU travels to #4 Auburn. These Auburn fans have the same feeling. They really think that this is their year. They think there is NO WAY they lose to this LSU team. Fortunately, I'm going to be at this game as well. I have a very good feeling that I am going to watch history repeat itself.

So, to all you Auburn fans, THERE IS NO SANTA CLAUS!!!!

LSU 31 Auburn 17

I agree. only difference is that year we were going up against a great defense, this year a great offense (we'll see about that). for some reason i have an even better feeling about this game than that one. demeco ryans + roman harper + some beast DL, man that was a great defense.

Wait, WHAT?!

And I agree completely. I never talk smack cause I believe the football gods enforce karma, but I feel very confident going into this game, much like I did in 05 going into Bama. I really can't remember a big game where I felt so confident that we didn't win.

I'll be in Auburn this weekend to see it too. And from the looks of it, I'll be there with plenty of other Tiger fans.

By far the best flyover I have ever witnessed.

They actually broke the hard deck, and I'm pretty sure that was the game that since requires a minimum 1000 foot.

I'm sure one of the pilots on here can confirm this.

I seem to recall everyone feeling as though Alabama was undefeated on paper, but really hadn't faced a tough team yet.

We trailed 10-0 at halftime, and one of the guys dressed up as a Bama bitch for the pimps was wearing a big diaper and smoking at haltime by the concession area, saying, "We better come back, or it's going to be a long day!"

i almost got my arse beat when JR threw that touchdown in 2005. hopefully i won't be surrounded by hundreds of the enemy this Saturday in Jordan-Hare when LSU takes down Auburn.

I still have a video that I took of this flyover. Pretty sweet sitting in the endzone with the SG bus trip group. It just sucked later on that OT was played on the other end of the field...

I'm having Top Gun flashbacks...

The pilot of the KC135 said in the paper that it looked like he was going to hit the construction crane.

This game reminds me nothing of the 2005 Bama game

The way i remember it, is that everyone was kind of waiting for Bama and expecting Bama to eat it

Pretty sure LSU was the team expected to win a close one by the talking heads
