The Benefits of a Strong Schedule...

I don't know how this season will end, but it appears that LSU's strength of schedule will benefit us if we are in the hunt for the title.
There have been many on here critical of scheduling strong OOC teams:
"Why risk playing a tough OOC team and losing?"
"We don't need a strong OOC schedule. Just schedule a bunch of cupcakes, win the SEC and we will be in the hunt automatically."
This OOC schedule has been great...the UNC game was on national TV and garnered a lot of attention. The West Virginia game was on ESPN and also got us attention.
We won both, and those teams are having strong years thus far.
I am glad we are playing Oregon to start the year next season and hope we continue to play strong OOC schedules...

Our 'permanent' east opponent being Florida has helped both programs immensely.

Not only playing a strong schedule, but handicapping ourselves by playing starting with our "weak link."

It certainly did in the 2007 season. We quite possibly wouldn't have gotten to the BCSCG without the Va. Tech win. And it was what hurt Auburn in 2004, with no BCS OOC game in the regular schedule.

and hope we continue to play strong OOC schedules...
