It depends how well our defense contains Newton and how well our offense produces.

If we get style points from Lee orchestrating a great offensive production with stellar defensive play yes we could be number 1. If we just get a win with JJ getting most of the snaps again we don't move from where we are now.

Yeah I think we will be #1 in the computer polls but all the analysts will probally say auburn is more overated then lsu is good.

We will be number 3. maybe even 4 if everyone else ub front wins impressively. TCU and Boise being in the mix is complete bullshite while you compare their schedules to LSU

There's certainly an argument to be made that puts the winner of LSU-Auburn at #1.
Will it happen? I'm sure it will in many voter's polls, but I don't think it will happen in the final cumulative poll.
Not to worry, though. LSU or Auburn wins out, they're in the big game. No doubt about it. If it comes down to Oregon, Oklahoma, LSU/Auburn, Oklahoma gets left out.
