Whats The Hats record the first two years with mostly Saban recruits vs his record the next two years with his recruits?

Ding. Ding. Ding. We have a winner. He underachieves with the talent that LSU has. Should LSU have lost 5 games in '08? 4 games last year? Even had a close game this year? Nope, but he manages to do so without reprecussion. This is a Top Five talent team and I only pray he doesnt F it up like he tried to do the 07 National Championship year.

Underachieves? In what way? People use the talent argument way too fricking much. Yes, LSU is probably one of the Top 15 schools in the country in terms of talent, but there are at least 4-5 other SEC schools in that same window at any given moment.

Should he have lost 5 games in 2008? Probably not. But anyone who expected anything better than a 3-loss season was kidding themselves. We lost our starting QB, assloads of talent, and our DC that season. Keep in mind that in a similar scenario... and without losing a QB or DC, Florida went 9-4 in 2007.

Should he have lost 4 games in 2009? Probably not. But would it really have made you feel that much better to say that we SHOULD have beaten Penn State and didn't? Florida and Ole Miss manhandled us for 4 quarters and Alabama came on strong in the 4th to steal the win. That last one was injuries to our "superior" talent, not a deficiency of coaching the players.

And now you're bitching about having close games? What team so far hasn't had one?

Alabama
Oregon
Ohio State
Boise State
Auburn
Oklahoma

Every one of these teams has had a "close" game this season and all are ranked in the Top 10 of every major college football poll. You're kidding yourself if you think we should have blown up every opponent with the ?s we had coming in. That's a part of college football. Get used to it or stop watching.
