spent last week there.....ate out every meal of 5 days....
Abe & Louies is a great steakhouse.....would go again for sure. Had a bone-in filet, lobster mac/cheese, raw oysters (blue point - best in current season). Excellent
Locke Ober was a complete fine dining experience...and the food was fantastic......raw oysters, shrimp cocktail, crab legs, chilled crab meat on the cold app tray.....cup of chowder, escargo, crab brie dip, grilled proscuitto shrimp (some others i dont remember) on hot app tray....i had filet au povire....tried the lobster savannah. both were great. dont remember the sides....
Union Oyster House is the oldest continuously open restrnt in America. One might say its a "tourist" destination....food wasnt great, but sufficed. raw oysters, garlic sauce/steamed mussels, clam chowder, lobster, broiled seafood platter. apps were the best. i had the broiled seafood platter...all tasted the same.
LTK - Test Kitchen - had a rockin Lobster Roll. A friend of mine went 3 times for lunch. Asparagus Potato Bacon Cream soup was great the day i went. Blue Point oysters here too....huge, salty, perfect. They had 5 different types of raw oysters
O'Connor's Irish Pub in the Westin (I know) had the best clam chowder I tried...and I tried it everywhere I went. Thats all tho.
Mike's Pastries - Do everyone you are with a favor...make sure you stop in the North End and get a cannoli.
Artu's - wife really liked their chicken parmesean (North End). Italian place recommended by the local firestation....I know, sounds crazy....wife was walking the area, stuck her head in the firestation and asked for the best local italian...they sent here there.
Antico's - was locally recommended. We didnt make it by.
Couple restrnts were meh. Reminded me of Gulf Shores Seafood Joints: Barking Crab, Legal Seafood (LTK is their "test kitchen"...Legal is a chain), Slapjacks.
Hope that helps!
