Truck.

Sportsmanship =/= pussy liberal Prius driver.
If anything you're embarrassing yourself by saying, "If you don't like killing everything, you're a bitch." Some people kill the animals they actually go hunting for. (gasp*)

First off the man is allowed to Hunt the way he wants to, as long as its legal. Which it is, so keep your negative opinions about it to yourself, he didn't title the thread "Does everyone think I should have killed a Coyote this weekend.

Just because he doesn't hunt like you do doesn't mean the way you hunt is better or worse.

Nobody said anything about killing coyotes by the hundreds. It's one coyote. Why do you hunt deer? Besides the obvious reason of food. Most people hunt to do their part in the circle of life and keep populations from exploding. If the population density rises above that which is sustainable in that area many negative things can happen. Why do you think all other species are immune from this?

Especially during bow season. It's not like cracking a shot off from a 300win mag, 15min into opening morning to shoot a coyote.

It's a message board. Sorry tough guy.

Of course not. Congrats on stating the obvious.

I did. There's nothing wrong with killing coyotes. Go for it. They're plentiful. But bragging about killing one while deer hunting is different. You obviously misread.

Blue Velvet, I'm interested to know your opinion on killing wild hogs. With crop damage and a long list of other things these hogs do I would stop a funeral to crack a shot off at one. If I am deer hunting and hogs move into the area the deer hunt is OVER. Your thoughts?

I love killing hogs. In fact, hogs are my favorite to hunt; preferably with dogs. But if I'm sitting in a deer stand waiting on a deer, I'm probably not going to shoot a hog. It's just a preference thing. I've gone out with pitbulls on ATVs and slaughtered hogs with AR-15's because they're ruining our land and deer population. But I kill hogs when hunting for hogs; not ducks, squirrels, deer, etc. Going into the woods with a deer tag and coming home with varmints is perfectly fine and legal; just not something I would brag about because you obviously didn't get what you went for and just decided to kill something anyway. It's not wrong.

Dude, tell you're not serious and you're just flamming this thread because you're bored. While a coyote may not have been his primary objective, managing your deer herd is a year round job. So even though you are hunting for deer at that exact moment, you have to be open to the opportunities that are layed at your feet.

This isn't a conversation this is your bitch session. If you don't like people shooting what they hunt for then start a topic on it. Don't come in here and trash someone then bitch when others call you out on it.

OK, I'll rejoin the conversation and add to the topic. You have stated your opinion only, no facts, no nothing, just your opinion... So, I will do the same. I kill predators that kill the subjects of my hobby and passion. I especially do so when bow hunting and it is a silent deed, besides losing an arrow or messing up a spitfire. I also feel strongly enough about it to shoot a coyote with a rifle and risk messing up my hunt that morning or evening. I don't remember anyone saying anything about shooting crows or squirrels, although my memory isn't the same since I became a teenage drama queen. My opinion also is, that you need to pull your head out of your arse. But, you may like it there..

I killed 3 coyotes last year off my deer stand. The reason I didn't kill more is that I only had 3 present themselves. Had I seen 877 coyotes and shot perfectly, I would have killed 877 whilst deer hunting.

BV - It's your opinion that you shouldn't kill a coyote on the deer stand. I've never met anyone else that shares that opinion as far as I am aware.

Don't bash the guy because you share different opinions.

Just to comment on this, the LDWF actually requests... nay, PLEADS that hunters shoot hogs at every opportunity because they are overrunning our forests and having such a negative effect on the populations of other animals that are NOT foreign to this land.

So dont act all high and mighty because you "wont kill a hog if you're not hunting hogs." You'd be doing yourself, other hunters, the habitat, and the state a favor if you decide to just end your hunt by killing the hog.
