Hey guys,
I don't post here much but I just completed this as a rough draft but came out pretty good. I used theadvocate's source pic from the other day. Hope you guys like.

honestly, the work is good, but it looks very gay.... or girlish...

I didnt like the pink/light purple, i would have preferred maybe gold fading into purple or just white(no racist)

I can't even tell if I'm being sarcastic or not at this point.
More to the point - It looks pretty cool (but I agree you need a Disney meets Chuck Norris swirly thing).

Thanks for the suggestions, although i'll be honest, I don't really know how to make flames in photoshop. Maybe I'd need some glow type brushes?

There are plenty of brushes you could use.
To create a free-form flame - Just use a "watercolor" style brush (so that the edges are slightly transparent) and make whatever shape you want in dark orange/red. Next - using a smaller soft-edged brush inside of the first shape with a yellow color (and again inside of that with white if you like). Use the smudge tool on a reduced percentage to fingerpaint up some swirls, etc..

I'll take a look into it tomorrow. I got the trial version of CS5. I'm still using CS1
