Oh ok, I thought you were on paleo. Be careful, beans are deceptively high in carbs if you're trying to do low carb. How many carbs are you considering taking in a day?

I just try to limit the amount of carbs I'm eating. and, I try to limit it to one meal a day. Usually it is zero meals a day. Today is different because my whole family is sick. Myself, wife, and daughter. The white bean chicken chili is a meal from the freezer and the bbq baked beans came from leftovers my mom cooked us.

I don't count anything I eat (carbs, calories, fat, etc.). A big part of my success is that I'm making healthy choices without nitpicking. I don't write down what I eat. I am conditioning myself to make healthy choices even when presented with bad opportunities. Since January, I've learned to say no to some of my favorite foods (fried foods, chocolate cakes, cookies, ice cream, poboys) without the need to count anything. And, I always eat until I am completely full.

If I had to count carbs, calories, etc., I don't think that I could maintain that once I'm done. And again, my goal is to maintain this diet for life. So, doing this on the fly is extremely important to me.

I very rarely have carbs, but don't freak out when I do. And, I think it is working out great. I've lost 30 lbs since I've started and no turning back now.
