I have read the average person eats about 3500 a day here in the US. Processed food is just full of sodium.

i should mention i avoid this in the same way i avoid restaurants. its tougher to make everything from scratch to be sure..but again..how bad do you want to lose weight? how bad will you feel if that processed food you've been eating has been sabotaging you the entire time?

veggies, dairy, meats, fruits. stick with those and try to avoid 'pre-made' stuff like the plague.

I lost 60+ pounds with just diet and basic exercise... kinda hit a roadblock after that, so I started a 'Couch to 5K' plan with a neighbor, and the weight has started to come off again now that we're really into the running part of the process... about 25 or so from my goal now.

You have to remember, lots of us got to this point cause were are a lazy lot.

For the most part, I do avoid processed food except cheese.

I also eat the same thing for dinner about 10 to 12 days then switch off for the next 10 to 12. To stifle my lazy instinct, I make a soup in a crock pot and store it in the freezer and fridge and that is my dinner for the next 10 to 12 days.

Lunch is always the same. Hamburger with a few onions on top of a big arse spinach salad tossed with olive oil and red wine vinegar.

I don't have the money or the motivation to make a different meal every day.

I know most people would cheat out of boredom the way I have been doing it, but I am usually so hungry at meal time I would eat a plate of brusells sprouts and be happy about it. And I would normally retch just smelling brussels sprouts being cooked.
