What happened to knee, thigh, hip and butt pads?

The players now a days could just play in shorts...I read about numerous thigh contusions, hip injuries etc...

Yea, makes sense..players wore them for years for a reason...

they're all there, they're just sewn into the underwears

the NFL doesn't require players to wear leg padding. The only players that don't ofter wear them are skill position players because they move better without the pads.

IIRC, Warren Sapp stated that all he wore was shoulder pads and a helment.

knee pads and butt pads are worthless

hips pads arent quite as worthless, but it's much easier to move without them

thigh pads, idk why someone wouldnt wear thigh pads
