last year Condon, in berating Angel Cabrera for needing an intepreter, saying that competitors who come to the US to compete in majors (he won the US Open) without knowing the language were essentially disrepectful. In contrast, he asked: would the US send competitors to a major outside the US if they didn't know the language, like the British Open?
