Me. The best way to do it is to just do it yourself. You create a bond and earn the dogs trust. Once you have that you could send them through a ring of fire for a bird. Time is the only issue with training a dog, don't cost too much, it ain't hard, it's just something you have to do in little chunks and do it alot. I'll never regret doing it myself.

Mark Smith is the best.... Bart is a good second - need to determine if your trainer is training for tests, trials or hunts.
if someone does not have a lot of exp. with pointers - don't send your dog there - they are not labs, goldens but... are a lot like chessies... you have to convince them - the way you want it done is right - not their way - sometimes you have to compromise.
