If Patrick Peterson continues on this pace, do you think he is a Heisman candidate. If Patrick Peterson is this effective with the ball in his hands, I think Miles and Crowton should work in a few offensive plays for him. He could be another Deion Sanders.

We've got a ton of talent on the offensive side of the ball, what makes u think crowton and les could effectively work in pp when they can't the talent we have?

He will need a game winning pick 6 or kick/punt return.

Would be nice to see him with a handful of offensive plays in a big nationally televised game, like Bama or Florida. But he would be taking Shepards touches in a speed option or reverse so probably wont see that.

That is besides the point. Working PP in for a few plays would high-lite his skills. If he becomes a legit Heisman candidate, then this is positive for LSU and recruiting potential. It also could push PP up in the draft and benefit him greatly. Lastly, it gives the opposing defenses something else to worry about. It's a smart move for everyone, and I think with

He wouldn't get Sheps touches because JJ is only going to get the ball to the primary person on the play. If the designed play is going to Shep, then for sure either Shepard gets the ball, or JJ runs with the ball because he doesn't check down. I'd love to see PP in a few offensive plays even if its to give the defenses something else to worry about.

At the risk of sounding negative, 2 things worry me about that:
1) UNC's depth issue. They had a lot of talented backups who had to step up, did, and played well- and thus were left off special teams. We don't yet know if Peterson can go wild like this against a bunch of legit cover guys
2) He left early before halftime apparently due to cramps, and cramped up again late when we needed him most. Not sure you keep taking that chance with him

more snaps on offense = more cramping on defense

There is no need for PP to take offensive snaps anyway

What would you do, give him a handoff? (shep or any rb would be more effective)

Throw him a screen (shep better)

throw him a pass? (TT or RR better)

Let the all american DB do what we know he can to do, not what you think he can do

Aren't the Heisman winners usually from highly ranked teams?

He will need some pick 6s, because no one is going to kick to him anymore.

Well, Patrick Peterson will not play baseball, but as far as football goes, he can be as good as Deion or better because Deion wasn't known for his tackling.

No it's very relevant to the point. We have 3 5 star receivers, one of the most athletic TE's in the country, loaded 5-6 deep at RB, russel sheppard just now getting the necessary touches he requires.....not mention our defense is likely a bend not break defense so will be on the field quite a while per game limiting offensive snaps.

Should we maybe tell Reuben randle or Terrance tolliver to take a seat while instead of throwing to proven receivers we are going to throw to pp so we can boost his heisman numbers?

That's fricking retarded.

Now how you plan on working in PP?
Who if you actually watched the game was already huffing and puffing on the sidelines....

My points are not only relevant but makes your argument seem silly and ranter-ish

To answer your question, not only would he be a candidate he would win 2 to 1.

I think 6000 yards and 12 TDs would wrap it up

lets run the option with sheppard and PP. that would be sick. then once that gets going do the option pass and let shep bomb it to tolliver. i can only dream...

Feldman of ESPN Insider already wrote a quick article on PP and the Heisman.

If he doesn't get hurt, he'll be way in the mix come end of the year.

He could be a good candidate if he could find a way to stay on the field.
