I've taken the trip to Auburn, its actually good and bad. The good is that its pretty cheap and you can sleep on the road. The thing that sucks is you usually leave very early, get there an hour before kickoff, then come straight home and get back early in the morning, not much partying going on, unless they do it different now.

I just wanted to go to the game. And it was cheap and worked out for me. I've heard they checked bags and such, and i have also heard they never checked. Any insight to this?

I don't remember them checking anything. You can get stuff in if you really want to.

And yes, it's a lot of fun even though the travel pace is a little hectic. Just put a flask in your pocket, they ain't gonna check that many people.

The good ole' water bottle trick just seems obvious now though...

If you got friends going earlier give them your alcohol (provided they dont drink it) and find them when we get there. May only be 1 hr to tailgate but 1 > 0

took several trips as a part of Tiger band which were quite cool. On one in particular the band director walks to each bus to make sure that everyone is accounted for. He gets on my bus, and as he walks down the aisle he turns to me and asks if I have my pot. I look up and tell him of course. Smoked a doob by the bus in the parking lot when we stopped for lunch at a cafeteria.

We were sent an email saying if you return to the bus after the game drunk or smelling of alcohol, you will be left in Atlanta and cant ride back.

Sounds a little excessive to me. I understand if you're falling down wasted.

about alcohol i got this email from them a few days ago

quote:

I just had a meeting with Campus Life and the chaperons. They will be checking bags for alcohol so don't risk it. This is a school sponsored event so there will be no leeway on this rule. I'm not trying to be a stickler for the rules, just warning y'all that they will be checking for it.

Just curious, does it matter if you are 21 or not or is it strictly a student bus trip rule that is always in place about no alchohol?

Me and my gf took one before. It was an experience to be had, but I'll never make it again. They did check our things, but my gf had a daiquiri in a smoothie king cup, and they skimmed her bag and didn't say anything. My bag was checked thoroughly (I didn't try and bring alcohol). You'll have a good time. It serves it's purpose for a game-only experience. Not much time left for anything else.

ETA: Age doesn't matter. They don't allow alcohol.
