Bama won it's championship for other reasons than Elroy. I think where the op was trying to go was to point out that Bama and the unspoken one is lining up QB talent and depth to continue success when one departs whereas we have two JRs and no one else. Not counting Rivers until he is here. Even still in 2012 he will potentially be a red shirt freshman.

I agree had this or that went this way or that way we would not be in the position we are in now as well. Lee should be a Jr while Jefferson should still be a So. and IMO Shep should be a QB the kid has extreme talent. I don't dislike him being a wr and wild cat QB and running back etc either as long as he touches the ball just saying I don't buy into the he couldn't be a college QB and a good one at that.

Alabama is championship material and has won championships in the last 3 years for the same reason LSU was MNC in 2003. You all know that reason, the name which we may not speak because it sets off all the CLM apologists when truth is told.

Good coaching makes up for a host of talent deficiencies. Good coaching and talent is what makes for champions. Bad coaching and talent? Oh well...
