Looks like after the new episode they're switching to a reality/challenge/elimination type show. I definitely like Myron as a judge but i always enjoyed watching the pros in actual competition and seeing them sweat it out. What's yalls thoughts on it?

I would have like to seen Terrence Cody as a Judge. I think he would be good

It seems like they are creating a PitMaster/Chopped combination. I am not in favor of the secondary challenges that kept the hippie from being judged on his BBQ, that is stupid. The hippie's place was recently on Triple D and by all accounts that guy puts out excellent BBQ. Then the difference between the 1st and 2nd place was the slaw. It is a BBQ show, not grilling fish and worrying about cole slaw. Myron, is fine. Warren Sapp and the other judge didn't do much for me.

It is better in that the judging should be better as you don't have to deal with all the other BBQ teams that were not involved in the Pitmaster comp, but the incidental challenges are stupid too me. I don't spend 10-12 hours prepping and slow smoking meat, produce an excellent shoulder, brisket, whatever, and worry about a guest being more concerned about a side dish. Better yet, have them bring their own damn side dish.

I like the old format better. I Quit watching after like 5 minutes yesterday.

While I absolutely loved the show last year, I made it 15 minutes.

One plus for the contestants is that there is much more money involved in this show than an actual competition. Plus, I'm sure that all the ingredients are free as well.

I actually know the hippies from St Simons and was really pulling for those guys. They were on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives last monday. Best bbq ever! Was pissed with the catfish competition. Catfish is not bbq! About 2 weeks after filming DD&D their restaurant burned down, sad story. They should be rebuilt by GA/FL weekend. If any of you are ever in St. Simons I highly recommend Southern Soul BBQ.
