...thought he said he did nothing wrong?
So give it back.
quote:
Reggie Bush apologized to new Southern California athletics director Pat Haden and expressed tremendous regret for his actions that landed the school on NCAA probation.
quote:
"He's really contrite," Haden says of Bush, who plays for the New Orleans Saints. "He knows he made a series of mistakes.
It wasn't just one mistake. It was a series of mistakes. "He told me, 'If I could turn the clock back, I would. If I could give the Heisman Trophy back, I would.' "
So give it back.

doesn't change the fact that he and his parents are thieves

this is all a ploy to see if USC can get the penalties reduced

....and liars
quote:
Bush, the second overall pick in the NFL draft last April, said he has been in touch with USC officials. “I told them the same thing, ‘Don’t worry about anything,”’ he said. “If there was something to worry about, than I would tell you. But there’s nothing to worry about.”
quote:
"I’m not worried about the allegations because I know what the truth is," Bush said Friday in New Orleans. "Like I said from day one, once the smoke clears, everybody will see we did nothing wrong. That’s it."
quote:
"But at the same time, I know there’s nothing to worry about. It makes you want to go out there right away and tell your side of the story. Show everybody the facts, the truth. But you can’t do that. That wouldn’t be the right way to do it."

If he would have cooperated with the investigation, SC would have much less severe penalties right now. shite, if he wasn't cheap and had just paid Lloyd Lake his money, it never would have come out at all

Nothing, but he said he would give it back if he could. Well he can. So what's he waiting for?

what does this have to do with him apologizing?

we're talkin about him givin back the heisman. he can apologize all he wants.
he shouldn't have to give back an award he earned on the field.

sorry the subject is "Bush apologizes" and there are quotes about him being contrite.
I just wanted to express my belief that by taking the money and not paying it back he and his parents are still common thieves.
He can keep his Heisman and win an NFL MVP trophy to go along with it and still be thought of as a thief.

i agree they are thieves.

What, exactly, did Bush steal?
Posted on 8/13/10 at 11:38 am to Sophandros
the house they got and whatever else.
i don't really care about that though.

As a diehard OSU fan I will be the first to admit that I hate USC football, but to pretend that this stuff doesn't happen at a ton of other high profile schools including OSU is ignorant.
I know that doesn't change the fact that Reggie Bush is a liar, but the punishments given to USc were way too harsh especially because it punishes too many players that may not have had anything to do with Reggie Bush.

He technically wasn't eligible to receive the award though.

How did they steal a house?
It was GIVEN to them. Sure, Lake wanted something in return (we call what he did BRIBERY, by the way), but Bush and his family did not STEAL anything.
Now, did they accept gifts in violation of NCAA policy? Certainly. But accepting a gift is not stealing.

That's it! Bush is doing nothing but shooting off his mouth and the comment is for dramatic effect. If he's serious, all he has to do is call UPS for a package pickup.
