"As previously stated, Sanchez is already in camp with Team Jackson, and will be training there full time as he prepares for his return to the Octagon in October against Paulo Thiago at UFC 121." - MMA Weekly

Sonnen, as recapped in last week's newsletter, did the best one-man build for a PPV in years, perhaps ever. We don't have a buyrate and won't have a really good indication on how the show did until at least next week. I do know that using the method I usually use on Monday mornings, which is usually pretty accurate in terms of a predictor (I came up with 1.5 million for UFC 100 and the real number was 1.6 million, and 1.25 million for UFC 116 and the real number ended up being about 1.1 million, so it's sometimes up and sometimes down but usually close) the show is trending just slightly under the Quinton Jackson vs. Rashad Evans show, which did about 1 million buys. Dana White on Saturday night said his early trending info had him ecstatic and was pointing to the biggest Anderson Silva fight of all time. Keep in mind the previous biggest Anderson fight was versus Forrest Griffin, which did about 900,000. The feeling from the UFC side Monday was that it's likely going to finish at around a million buys or maybe just underneath that.

What does a million buys mean in terms of pure revenue, profit, and actual business for the company? Is it the lions share or is it the icing. Any guess at a dollar amount? just curious

Total gate $1,560,000

PER Wiki this is what they took in and then take 1 mil times a conservative average of $44.95 (add $5 for HD) and then do the numbers.

Total fighter base payroll is roughly $950,000 with bonus payout, then rent for the facility, travel, stage setup, they still have to be coming out WAY ahead.

The company appears to be managed really well at that.

You need to come to Hellenback in Navarre and watch a fight with us.

Yeah, they are doing well enough alone on PPVs then.

Probably should have went for 116, but I had family in town. I was in BR for 117. If I'm still here for 118, I likely will.

Training partner for Lesnar I guess to simulate Dos Santos.

"I got this tattoo for two reasons. One, for everything my parents did to come over to this country, all the hardships they had crossing the border. 'Brown pride' when we were growing up meant ‘Mexican pride.' That’s how we would say it. It’s something to say if we’re proud about where we came from. What my Dad did, my Mom did to get over to this country to me means a lot. I’m proud of where I came from. I’m proud of what Mexican people stand for. We’re known as hard working people. We’re known as fighters. We’re known to have a lot of heart. We’re known to never give up in the gym and have a lot of cardio. To always work hard. The work ethic that my Dad, all the Mexican people bring out in the fields and stuff, we bring to the gym and whatever else we do. Another reason why I got is because when I was growing up I didn’t have anybody to look up to. There’s nobody that was my size that was Mexican that looked like me that I could see in the media. I pretty much didn’t have those dreams of 'Hey, I can do that stuff. I can be in the media, I can play professional sports.' I didn’t have that. I didn’t have nobody to look up to so now that I’m in that position, I put 'Brown Pride' on my chest to let people know 'Hey, I’m Mexican. I’m proud to be Mexican. I’m doing good things.' For those people that just don’t know the story behind it, that’s all I can say. The only thing I can do is clear it up by doing interviews like this."

Not one mention of American pride.

thinking same thing.

I'm proud to be of Italian heritage but i'm an American first. it's amazing how people fail to connect their way of life with how they want to be portrayed.

Caught a couple of small bass. There's a little bridge that has creek bed underneath that goes into a pond that is really really grown up off of the golf course.

Look down and saw two bass, both somewhere between 3-4 pounds just hanging out. I cast at them until I spooked them off. The water is really fricking clear.

It had just down poured so there was a lot of fresh water in there so maybe that's why I didn't catch anything else. It was the same weekend that Bonnie came through.
