He said a decision would come before the end of the month.

He did the elite 11 deal, said he was going back home to talk with his coach and parents, and then would be committing.

Plant high coach said he expects Ely, Wilder and the third big plant star to commit together (i.e. at the same ceremony, not the same school)

ETA: "third big plant star" = Posada

He'll commit the first week of August. Some have said it'll be a week from Tuesday. It's down to LSU-Clemson.

parker turning down the cash and returning to clemson really helps us

He actually said something somewhere that it helps Clemson. With Parker coming back (he'll only be there for one year) it keeps Tahj Boyd (5 star they signed one or two years ago) from becoming the established starter. With Parker staying, there will be no established starter for Ely to have to unseat if he went there.

Still think he's LSU but Parker coming back definitely helps Clemson.

Very very questionable logic at best. Ok, Ill say it, it is dumb logic. That situation gives another 5 star another year to get better and learn even more. No reason to then Ely would come in as a fresh and take his spot. That is ignorant to even let him think that might happen.

Never said it was my logic or the best logic, just relaying his logic.

Some people care more about making someone look wrong than they care about reading comprehension behind.

So you go to a mediocre school with a 5 star sophomore in waiting who knows the team, coaches, and playbook and you think that gives you a better shot at starting as a freshman or sophomore than you would have at LSU?

I think CJ Uzomah is our man. Ely will go Notre Dame or Clemson. Sure hope Zack Lee stays bc no highly rated qb's left.

Ely camped at ND, but ND didn't offer and appears to have passed on him.

I think (hope) he's coming to LSU. Not the biggest guy but very productive and a very good leader.

We are recruiting him as a Qb and that is why Lsu has a great shot at getting him. Auburn vs Lsu battle
