it's the responsibility of the drilling contractor to ensure safety to it's employees.

not just bp.

If the contractor is calling all of the operational shots I agree, but that wasn't the case.

I firmly believe that this administration is really actively trying to end the oil industry, at least domestically. With this and the forced signing of the contracts, see " Not encouraging news" thread, it is clear that they are out not only for BP but for the industry as a whole.
