Plausible fiction. Without any proof/evidence Supatigah's post is no more real than anything else.
Just as plausible (but also without a shred of proof/evidence) is:
Miles made it clear to CG that he had to beat out JJ & JL, and that the bar would be high since Les wants QB in waiting for the day when JJ & JL leave. Basically CG is going to be "parked" for a couple of years. CG decides he doesn't want to wait and lets Les know. Les cuts him free.
