And Zach Oliver would just DOMINATE the SEC right? That's why his best offer was NORTHWESTERN? Your making yourself look even more like an idiot with every post

And yet I'm so true. I have yet to see you talk like this about any African American quarterback, yet a White quarterback commits to NORTHWESTERN, and you would think hell has frozen over. Did you react like this when Bridgewater committed to Miami? No Hundley and Williams crossing us off their list? No And I bet when Worley commits to Notre Dame you will be right back here doing this same crap

Beautiful! Wow! Our dip-shite coaches have truly outdone themselves this time! Absolutely amazing! Those idiots better recruit a talented long-snapping OC this year: we're gonna need somebody to hike the ball all the way back to the RBs because there are NO QUARTERBACKS LEFT!!! The bad news is that I'm fairly certain that we'll lose our WR commits if we DON'T HAVE ANYONE TO THROW THEM THE BALL!!! Les is definitely going in the Hall of Fame now: the first Coach to win a National Championship WITHOUT A QUARTERBACK!!! After we talk Zach Lee into foregoing millions of dollars to come play football in Baton Rouge, maybe we can then talk him into redshirting? Unbefrickinglievable....
You're dumb

i talked to Zach the other day... i wouldn't call him a solid commit... he'd still go to LSU in a heartbeat if they offered
Yeah I'm sure he would, if we miss on the guys higher on our board I have no doubt we could still land Oliver.

I'm not talking about "domination"; I'm talking about HAVING A QUARTERBACK. Do you understand? We don't have a quarterback yet in this class, and there aren't many left who have LSU high on their list. Sadly, at this point we're kinda looking for a warm body, aren't we?

Both Jefferson and Jarrett Lee are here for two more years. Garrett will be a junior by the time they are gone. I could see us going after a guy like Oliver next year, but right now Oliver is not a guy that we NEED in this class. Now, if we are in this same situation next year, then yes you take a flier on a lower rated local guy just to get a backup

Well said. This is not the year to take that flier.

And hyperbole and sarcasm are lost on you. I'm not trying to pick a fight; I'm not going to waste the effort on insulting you; and GeauxAggie's comment about white quarterbacks is just confusing. Let me explain this in simplest terms: I was using exaggerated language and attempting farce because I'm concerned that WE DON'T HAVE A QUARTERBACK in this class, and there aren't many (certainly no big-name guys we've been talking about) left on the board. You can understand that, right?

There is still time to get a qb in this class. NSD isn't until February and a lot can happen between now and then. The staff can still decide to offer Oliver or Dak Prescott. There could be a qb who decommits from a school who decides to look at LSU or a qb we aren't even thinking about right now who could be our qb. It's just waaaay too early to freak out about this.

So you think Northwestern coaching staff will continue to recruit quarterbacks?

I was waiting for the ConfederateTiger response this.

We're obviously completely boned for this class since we don't have a QB in June.

Maybe not completely, but don't you agree there's at least some cause for concern? I can't figure out why a top-flight program like LSU is having such trouble landing even middle-of-the-road QB talent this year. Sorry, but it bothers me. If you have some words of wisdom you'd like to share I'd appreciate the help.

Wait... you mean Zach Oliver ISN'T the only uncommitted QB left in the Western Hemisphere?

Well that's a load off my mind.

Well, consider what GeauxAggie wrote earlier in the thread:

quote:

So whose left?

Worley: Notre Dame Bound
Brissett: North Carolina bound
Hundley: Knocked off his list
Marquise Williams: Not on his list

All that's left is Ely and he's not in a shoe in. Plus for a "top tier" QB his offer sheet sucks. The only school in Florida that has offered is South Florida

Exactly. I hope we've "secretly" been recruiting somebody great then, because it seems like the young men on whom we've spent the most time aren't beating down the door to wear P&G. I don't doubt that we'll find someone to sign, but I was hoping for more than just "someone" this year, ya know?

Why??? Oliver is very good... Here is a kid who didnt visit any other school except Northwestern(Big Ten)and LSU.... I understand many other schools tried to get him to their camp, but he refused. It sounds like it was going to be one of these two colleges the entire time

I know I may sound crazy, but given that he is not LSU's first choice and he maybe no more than a backup he should stick with the Wildcats.

If Zach Lee doesn't stay. It's my understanding that Sam Gibson will be our QB committ from last years class.

As to the question of why we can't get a top flight QB. First, Oliver isn't that top flight QB. Second, there aren't many in this area. We were recruiting QB's Nationally which is very hard to do. I'd panic if we had a Jamarcus Russell at Catholic who went elsewhere, but Thats not exactly the case.

Also, to ease your mind Conf.Tiger, Tim Tebow wasn't really discovered until after his Sr. year. There is still a lot of time to find a QB. Especially if we are willing to take a not so highly regarded one like Oliver.

What if you were Zach? Would you completely throw your dream school to the side? I think not.

Anyone who saw NW against Auburn in the Outback Bowl knows that is a good place to be a QB right now.

And it's a pretty good school.
