If Fedor is near the end of his current contract..
Who knows? This loss may motivate him with a case of the @ss, rededicate himself to finish his career strong? He may want to fight one or two of Brock, Carwin, Mir, Dos Santo, Velaquez, etc..to prove something to his critics and guys like Mir that have called him out these last few years?
Despite being a fan of his, I can't say I'm not glad he lost, as I would've been more PO'ed should he have not faced better fighters and retired unbeaten without squaring off against the best in a cage setting. Sorta glad, think it may be the best chance of him going to the UFC before he walks away?

I would like to see this and I would like to see him fight 3 fights per year each of the next two years against all the top guys.
I will say I do not buy he is not in shape or his skills have declined to any significant degree. He got caught tonight. He was overaggresive and made a mistake in a fight he probably wins most of the time (see Big Nog fights).

While I agree on the just getting caught and skills parts, there is still something almost karmic about fighters showing up "soft-serve..ala ice cream".
Yes, Fedor was never an all world physique, and MMA isn't boxing, but like Tyson in Tokyo, Buster Douglas vs Holyfield, BJP vs Edgar, etc..it just goes perfectly with the Loss..didn't show up ready for personal bests.

I realized a little while back that the only way Fedor ever fights in the UFC was if he lost. So if it had to happen, this wasn't a total loss. My feed went out, but i hear Fedor knocked him down, jumped in and got caught in a triangle. That's not getting his arse whooped or dominated. Hopefully his posse quits asking for the moon, and Dana can put a sock in it long enough to not offend the guy and get him signed.

True. Fedor made a mistake. He went in for the kill way too agressive, way to quickly. The fight had just begun and Werdum was not really hurt and capitalized perfectly.

been a fraud for 3 years at least.

Right now he needs the UFC more than they need him. Their HW stable is very exciting and up and coming. Dana has any and all power right now in regards to signing Fedor.

No doubt. The terms of the UFC in trying to sign him will not be nearly as generous now. M-1 cannot even suggest co-promotion without being laughed at. M-1 will really have to swallow some pride if they want to come to terms.
Best case scenario (to me at least) is Fedor finishing his SF contract against the winner of Werdum and Overeem then finally signing with the UFC. If he were to fight and beat the winner of Werdum and Overeem, it should be an immediately title fight.
But this is likely wishful thinking. Just as great a chance Fedor fights his last SF fight, wins, and either semi-retires or faces fighters well beneath his skill set for a few years in various one off fights (like Lindland in bodog and Choi in Japan).

Guess Lesnar is the biggest fraud in the sports history then. Since Lesnar is only 4-1 and got submitted by a guy who could not hold Werdum's jock in a submission contest.

the problem I see with Fedor is does he really want to fight in the ufc. He entered fighting to help support his family and he has more then enough money to do that now.

I'm not completely sold on Lesnar. I want to see him on his back and I want to see him get rocked and how he fights through it.

That is the big question. Fedor seems to have some personal issues with the UFC on a lot of levels. I am not sure he ever joins them.
As for Lesnar, I was giving numbnuts a hard time for being an arse. I am pretty sold on Lesnar. I do however think Fedor / Lesnar is an impossible fight to call. Fedor's striking is unbelievably fast and he puts it together with awesome combinations. I think Fedor would try to keep it stand up against Lesnar (like he should have done Werdum). Fedor would beat Lesnar to the punch and do it with combinations. Considering Fedor's punching power, Lesnar's chin would get a huge test and I really think Fedor would KO him. I think Lesnar is too big and strong for Fedor to try to submit until the later rounds.
All that said, good chance they never fight and besides that, I give Carwin a great chance next week and would say that fight is probably about 60/40 in Lesnar's favor.

I got Brock winning the next fight. I think he gets it to the ground and pounds out Carwin. I want Carwin to shoot on Brock first and try to take Brock down. I give Carwin the advantage on the feet though. I think if Carwin can keep it on the feet or get Brock on his back he has a great chance to win
