I heard they even offered to take one of the smaller cuts of the Big Whatever TV revenue and give UT half the gate when they played in Fayetteville.

Arky getting turned down? Haha, yeah right!
I think they got it backwards!
Even Austin Community College would turn down joining the Big XII-lite!
I bet ITT gave 'em a when UT came begging for them to join!
This is Chip Brown we're talking about.

If you compare us to the other expansion school, South Carolina. We are better than that. Maybe he just wants to sell more Orangebloods subscriptions to Arkansas people.

No way Arkansas is even thinking of going to the SEC. If they do then fine, they are lot more stupid then I thought.

That could be very likely.
To be honest though, I think this is propaganda directed towards A&M. Whether or not this Arky thing is true, it only matters if A&M thinks it is. Then,A&M thinks that the SEC is just as unstable as the Big XII and A&M won't consider leaving.
The more I think about it, the more it makes sense to me.

This - Ark would never leave the SEC - it would be a death blow because the Big 12-2 won't last another 3 years.
This is Chip Brown trying to sell crap.

They already thought about it.

I agree. It's Horn PSYOPs at it's finest. The objective could be to distract and confuse A&M fans, and to boost morale within their own ranks. But who knows? Distorted egos can have distorted motives.

This one especially got my attention. It's so full of holes that it's pathetic.
Arkansas-Let's Take A Trip
Back in 1979, I actually got thrown in jail in Texas (Sabine County) with some friends for no other reason than being from Arkansas and them needed the money. We had been stopped by some county "deputies" for having a taillight out.
They told us they needed the money for a jail-museum. They were boasting about it. We were held in this shite-hole of a jail for 2 days before being allowed to make a phone call. The beds had only springs and the toilets recycled the water being flushed. There were only bars and no glass in the windows. It got very cold at night. There was a hanging gallows in the cell next to ours.
They forced us to plead public intoxication. Court was held at an individual's house who had to first dismount their riding lawnmower before "hearing" our case.
It was an awful experience.
The Place
...and that's no bullshite!
I eventually forgave them. My friends and I sometimes bring it up and laugh about some of the funnier things that occurred over that 2-3 day period. For instance, there was a kid from Lufkin who was in an adjacent cell. He shared his reading material with us. It was a 2 foot tall stack of cow journals. He was a true cowboy and kept us entertained. He had been there for an entire month on some minor charge without a court date in sight. We can laugh about it now but when I see some kind of bullcrap like that about Arkansas, it takes me back. I'm sure that kind of thing could have happened in Arkansas, or a lot of other places back in those days, but this incident in Texas happened to me.
The three officers who were involved in our incident were later brought to justice over murdering a young man from Louisiana at that jail a few years later.
