I dont get it. I mean ,yes he hasnt gotten it down yet but i would rather have him then Jerret Lee. I mean u guys not realize he was a soph last yr. Tyrelle pryor struggled too and he was the number one recruit in 08. And before u say J lee was a freshman wen he played, i get that but u dont realize is Lee threw us out of games with the pick 6's. At least we was still in the game with JJ. How many times did we get blown out least yr? none but we did 3 times wen J lee was QB. And did we not have one the worst o line play since i dont know when. Yes i saw the spring game, but what ppl dont realize is that the spring game is so the coach can see in a simulation game what is the he needs to work on b4 the next season starts. thats why its held in spring so they have all summer to work on it. SO to everyone whatever u saw at the spring game throw it out. Cuz i wouldnt take anything from that game.

The blow outs were more a function of our insanely horrible defense in 2008 than because of JL. He didn't help obviously. But with any semblence of a defense that year, it would still have been a great year.

"Why" don't you use proper grammar?

I love it.. A poster come on here to ask why we jump on JJ and then continues to assault Lee. Cause we certainly never gave him a hard time
I dont recall a QB badgered in my life more than Lee. But lets protect JJ.

Because too many people hype the living crap out of him in order to trash other players (Lee, Hebert, etc.), when the guy has serious problems as a QB.
It doesn't mean I don't like the guy. Some may recall that I went absolutely ballistic when people were wanting a Heisman campaign for Charles Scott during the 2008 season, but I thought Scott was our best leader on offense in 2009.
I just don't like it when people try to make the game too much of an individual thing (who are the stars who are going to "step up"? who are the true leaders? and all that shite).

Regardless of what your opinion about JJ is...JJ was at the helm for one of the worst offenses in the NCAA last year.
Was this all his fault? Certainly not. But he deserves some criticism for the untimely sacks- as does the line and the coaching/play calling.
He deserves some criticism for not understanding the Option (short side or not)- as does the coach trying to teach him to run it.
I agree that deriding JJ is not productive, but one can certainly point out areas for improvement in his game.
That being said, He is a far better athlete than I was, and likely far better than anyone criticizing him on this forum.

It comes with the territory.
The LSU QB position and the LSU coach position are the 2 most scrutinized jobs in the state of Louisiana. You can win 5 games in a row and it's ho-hum, but lose the 6th and watch the sparks fly. Hell, if you don't win the 1st 5 by an acceptable number of points, those sparks already have the ground cover smoking.
JJ is getting no different treatment than Lee did in 08 and has gotten better treatment than some QBs have in our history.
Right or wrong, it is what it is. imo

What I don't understand is how people act like JJ or JL kicked their kids in the throat or fricked their wives or something and they take whatever they do in the field personally like LSU owes them something... I get just as frustrated as the next person with these guys, but personally attacking them and bad mouthing them is as pathetic as it gets.
Some of you have no clue what being a fan is, and I know I'll get the "oh so I'm not suppose to care about my teams play blah blah blah so I'm not a real fan" but that's not what in saying... You can still be critical about their play without being immature pricks and bad mouthing them... Until you've been a LSU starting QB and threw for 300+ yards with 4 TDs and no picks every game, please just keep the stupid they suck or worthless comments to yourself, jeez.

Lee at least tried to move the offense. JJ is just lazy, and our offense stays in neutral when he is in. At least when Lee threw a pick 6, he would normally follow it with a score. JJ is content with 23 punts in a game. We would have beaten Florida last year if Lee had played.

JJ just has not progressed to me - can't find open receivers, gets happy feet pretty quick, is not very accurate. I hate to admit it, but JL may have more upside despite his little int. problem. KC. We may not be at the bottom of the barrell for QB's, but we are definitely in the bottom half of it.

because he SOMETIMES looks like he is dazed when he comes up to the line.
I realize the consensus is that the O line was not great, but ...
he looks DAZED.
I also observe he is really slick at some behaviors, but ....
I hope that Zach Lee is able to memorize the playbook, even though he is only in school part time. Does he get to practice with the team if he is not full time this summer?

U don't realize. Ppl don't realize. We don't realize. Do you realize how many times you said this stupid crap?

My head hurt reading this. We really need spellcheck on TD.
I don't hate JJ. I didn't hate Jimmy Carter. He is a nice man, I just didn't want him running my country.

Folks rarely "jump on" a player. But they do "Rant" and "Rave" about a players performance. The reason is because LSU football is very important to many of us. As such, the QB will get assessed based on how he performs.
To date, JJ's performance has been very questionable, so the "ranting" has been accordingly less-than-spectacular.
It is about getting the job done. Perhaps a few freaks improperly hold it against JJ the person, but 95%+ of folks are discussing his performance, not his character as a person.
Of course, their are many cobweb-disturbers and rantards out there, so some stir it up for fun to see people like you get spun up.
That's it, really.
