We used to consume about 20 million barrels per day...so if the GOM produces about 1.7 then it's about 10% of total consumption. Don't know the amt of land-based production

When you say "consume" do you think of consuming as "fuel" and transportation or would consuming include the oil that is directed towards plastics and other petro-chemical goods?
