Looks like the "save the big 12" campaign has real legs.

So it'll be UT and the Little 9?

It will die, it's nothing more than spin to make A&M look like the bad guy. Screw'em, I don't mind being the spoiler for the left overs that would become a sorry excuse for a conference.

I would really be surprised if that happened. No way they get the same money and REALLY no way they get more for having fewer teams.
Only way they save the Big 12 would be to find two good teams to join.

We will see.........think it is Texas' only chance to save face. Tamu should just do it, heard they have the votes to pull the trigger.
I honestly don't care what I hear until it is official.

be patient
this year or within the next couple Big 12 will collapse. They are just not going to make nearly enough money to compete (as a conference) with the other major conferences
Texas will still end up bolting for the PAC 10 IMO. They are just hoping to force A&M to move first so they can paint them as the team that undid the Big 12
But the house of cards had to collapse when Nebraska left - in a football sense the Big 12 is now just the states of Texas and Oklahoma.

A&M is on the verge of getting owned in an epic manner if they end up staying in the little 10 when an SEC invite is supposedly on the table.

If so, no SEC soup for you.

Joe Schad is reporting that Texas' participation is dependent on A&M staying put.
If true, expect a lot of lobbying by the Big 12 teams about to be left in the cold, such as Baylor and Iowa State, against A&M instead of against Texas, who is the one actively screwing them over.

It really wouldn't be a bad idea. Bring in TCU (which should have been in instead of Baylor anyway) and maybe BYU and keep it at 12 teams. Both of those additions bring as much name and prestige as Colorado had. The conference would take a bit of a hit in losing Nebraska, but would remain viable and certainly would not lose its BCS bid. Or maybe even bringing in Colorado State would be an option. They probably have a fan base similar to Colorado in the same market, so that would ease the pain of the loss of CU. Add Air Force for a national following and have a pretty good 14-team arrangement. I think there are lots of good options for keeping the Big XII (or Big XIV) alive.
But I wonder, if the Big XII went to 14 teams and renamed itself the Big XIV, would they sell the rights to the Big XII (or Big 12) name to the formerly 11-team but now 12-team Big Ten?

If you guys fold to UT like that.....probably wouldn't make it in the SEC any way.

The SEC should tell A&M its now or never. If you want in come now, don't come asking to join when that confrence goes belly up because that option is gone.
