He's correct. The loss of 30 scholarships is what will impact recruiting.

I can't really speak for those California kids but if I was a young football prodigy I certainly wouldn't be going to a football program that has no shot for playing for a National Title for the next two years.

A bit. ALthough Kiffin wanted 25+ per year, the last several years, SC has signed in the teens.
I don't think some people are appreciating just how much that is going to hurt. He's only going to bring in 45 players into the program over three recruiting classes. Knock a couple of those off for natural attrition (injuries/transfers) and you're looking at maybe 40 players in a three year stretch.
