Oklahoma State negotiating with Pac Ten

Oklahoma State, per College Football Talk and TMZ, is talking with the Pac Ten about joining the conference.
This is a very logical move, IMHO, as Okie State is, with Colorado officially accepting an invitation, now the most in danger of getting bumped by Baylor if the Texas state politics play a part in who goes to the Pac Ten.

I am really curious to see how all this plays out.
The Big East, ACC, and SEC have been pretty quiet about all of this. I suppose it could stay that way if the following happens:
Colorado, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, and one of the four stragglers (Baylor, ISU, KSU, Texas Tech) to the Pac 10 (Pac 16 or whatever).
Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Notre Dame to the Big 10 (Big 16), along with one of the four stragglers. Of course, this would mean that ND would have to leave the Big East for basketball...and they PAC and Big 16s would be willing to take say KSU and Texas Tech. This would also really screw ISU and Baylor who would have to go to the Mountain West or something.

Am I wrong in assuming OU would walk if Ok State was not invited?
I don't think Ok State is in jeopardy - although I wouldn't dawdle in signing if i were them
