State director suspended our team for "an adult dropping F bombs and blatent disrespect"

Well that's some fricking bullshite right there. You should have kicked his arse on the spot.

OK, seriously, if you guys don't have a reputation for that, then there's something else going on.

They always have a solid bunch in the age groups I've seen. We've played the 13 y/o LA Thunder team a few times so far this year

Lightning is the correct answer. It was tough telling those kids they had to forfeit given what we were told. It was a tough lesson but they came out wanting to win it Sunday. There were some really good teams there and we just wanted to play. The state director said we should not have been allowed to play Sunday but rules were bent to allow it. The funny thing is the team we forfeited to got the number one seed and got beat 10-1 in their first game. They laughed at us when we showed back up Saturday night. Go figure.

This is the first year that the name has been franchised I guess you could say. The 11 year olds is the original group. It's weird seeing the hats and stickers all around town now with so many people I've never met before. Hopefully they play up to their potential this weekend. Struggled a bit this year on Sundays. I think they've been the 1 seed in 7 out of 9 tourneys. They just have come up a run or two short on Sunday thus far. They won it last year, so hopefully they'll play solid this weekend.

They cancelled the tournament due to weather

it was 5 p.m. and they had 6 games left so it was impossible to finish

Oh I gotcha. So if yall would have been #1 seed like yall were supposed to then your team would have technically "won" the tournament.

Wasn't my team, just going by what I'm seeing on the USSSA website

I'm not sure how they ended up seeing who won because it wasn't by pool play seeding. Maybe they did it by total USSSA points? Not sure

But it looks like Astros Baseball won the tourney but they were only the 5th seed

They ended up "seeding" the remaining teams for placement. We ended up 5th.

All are DYB and high school kids from small schools. Most were on Class B and C high school rosters until the season was over. This was our first tournament.

Sounds good, most of our kids played for the Vernon Tigers a few years ago and we slowly morphed into this team. Hopefully we can get past this and let the kids play.

I've always had bad experiences with the tourney directors in Lake Chuck/Sulphur.
