I always felt that the kid had all the tools. I hope he gets the coaching he needs and puts it all together this year.

1. IMO JJ doesnt seem to have the instinct to run for the chains, and get out of bounds, like for example M Flynn. You cant coach that. It was all happening too fast for him. Because spring practice didnt allow hitting, we dont know yet, what he will do when a play breaks down.

2. Dandy Don said about JJ at the time he signed in high school, that he was a couple of years away and we should expect to see him on the field when he's a junior, which is now. JJ is ahead of where he would have been if RP was on the team the past two years.

Coaches need to be working on his accuracy every practice. Too often last season he hit receivers in a spot that killed their momentum and hurt their chances of making a play after the catch.

I like Jefferson.

Not trying to argue, but we will never know if Flynn had that in him as a freshman or sophomore. Jefferson, and Lee for that matter, had the misfortune of growing up in front of everyone on the national stage. Flynn and Mauck had that moxie, but Mauck was a heck of a lot older, and Flynn won the title as a 5th year senior, but they both did some things during our championship years that would make you scream. Anyone remember how vanilla we were after Mauck threw that early pick 6 against Ole Miss? I have...a want to believe that Jefferson is still maturing, and we have only skimmed the surface of his potential. I for one am motivated by that article, and I look forward to more improvement. At this rate we will have another senior QB in '11, which puts us on pace to go with '03 and '07. I'm willing to stand behind him until then!
