Can you really argue LSU has proven to be a top 25 team past two years? 4-5 losses for most teams guarantee them out of the top 25.

Its irrelevant anyway...LSU wins, they skyrocket up rankings. That simple.

Perception...

As much as I hate to admit it, LSU is now percieved in the media as a program in a rebulding mode. I attribute this to the lackluster spring game LSU played on National
Television. In addition, based on the games LSU lost last year...youth at running back, wide reciever, defensive line, and linebacker...PLUS no proven QB and a makeshift offensive line, it's no wonder some reporters would feel this way. I don't agree with a lot of his picks but I'm not surprised at LSU being ranked low (or un-ranked) by some media outlets.

With that said, convincing wins over NC and Vandy to open the season would get some to rethink the predictions...

Let me guess - you are a Les Lover, a regular posi-tard.

If SI was alone, maybe you'd have a complaint. They aren't and you don't. By any objective measure LSU is losing respect at a rapid clip. We are a premier program only in some of our deluded fans minds. The same groups, who if you point out reality, try to intimidate you by saying you are disloyal or a gump.

Look around folks. The positive mentions of LSU outside of Tiger fandom are few and far between.

Gotta say that anybody who was at the Ol' Miss debacle or the Penn State mud bowl, to name just two, wouldn't have a tough time agreeing with SI. IMO, however, pre-season polls are about as useless as LSU's O-line was last year. We only have a while to wait until we know what we've got. UNC's coming up. GEAUX TIGAHS

We beat #18 UNC to star the season and we're right where we need to be and then we take care of business after that.

That Top 25 is funny though.

I'd use it to motivate my team!

Out of that list I think LSU can easily beat Houston(21), UConn(24), and Utah(25).

I think LSU can probably beat VT(7), TCU(6), Wisconson(9), Miami(12), Penn St.(14)[funny 2 points is the difference in 14 versus missing the cut], GT(15), Pitt(15), UNC(18), Cinnci(19), and basically everyone after them. Not saying they would but I think its better than a 50/50 shot.

Overall I think LSU can beat anyone on that list with the talent they have its whether they come to play and the coaches come to coach.
